WEBSITE SETUP AND DESIGN

Creating a website is the first step for any business in establishing an online identity and absolutely essential to reaching your customers, be they local or across the country or even abroad. It becomes especially effective when combined with certain Online Marketing services, such as Search Engine Optimization, linking up to the Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft Maps, creating a Facebook Page and a Myspace profile, as well as listing your website in various other online business registries/directories.

Start with an Idea

We begin with an initial discussion about your business and what you need out of a website, as well as what you want it to look like and whether or not you have any other websites within your same field that you would like to use as models for the design. Once we have an idea of what you're looking for, we'll be able to quote you appropriately for the complexity of your site.

After that, we'll secure a domain and/or hosting using our preferred budget or premium registrars/hosts (depending on your bandwidth/space needs), if you don't already own any. Once the domain is secured and we have space to host files, we'll sign up your site for the free Google Apps service, which will allow you to use the Gmail webmail client for all email addresses (up to 50) on your domain in addition to linking them all up on an IM server (GoogleTalk), as well. This will also allow us to set up your site to use Google Docs, Google Video, Google Sites, Google Calendar and Google FriendConnect, if you want/need.

Once this is completed, we begin to design your website--offering you several layout styles and color schemes to choose from. If you have an official logo already, we'll focus design around its colors and/or shape, otherwise we'll just create one new for you. Once we decide on a final style/scheme, we'll fill it in with your copy and media (pictures, audio, video) in addition to setting up a WordPress blog hosted on your server, if you want/need.

At this point, the basic website is done and the price ranges between $500 - $1000, depending on how many original graphics we made, how much copy we had to personally write for you and the languages used to create your layout--original graphics, writing any copy at all and advanced languages such as Flash, Javascript, and/or PHP increases the price. If you want to add log-ins or create a cart/catalog for an online store, the price ranges rises to $1500 - $2000, depending on languages (PERL, SQL, PHP, Ruby, Python, etc) and the product volume.

TIME: Depends on complexity and your level of participation, but usually 1-4 weeks.

PRICE: $500 - $2000; 40% paid initially w/ the remaining 60% paid on completion.
